Spotlights

THE SPOTLIGHTS PROGRAM FOR IAWM’S SOCIAL MEDIA SITES AND YOUTUBE ALLOW MEMBERS TO SHOWCASE THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND INCREASE THE AWARENESS OF THE MUSICAL CONTRIBUTIONS OF WOMEN GLOBALLY.

HOW SPOTLIGHTS WORK

You may submit up to two different length videos: one short video (less than 90 seconds) that will go on our various social media platforms and one longer video (around 3 minutes) that will go on our YouTube channel. Only one is fine. IAWM will not edit the videos other than adding title screens and your name Please submit your information, video (in raw format, not a YouTube link), and any questions HERE.

For those of you very familiar with making your own videos, do your thing. For those that may need a few tips, please consider:

  • Talk to the camera
  • Limit any background noise, especially if you are not using a microphone
  • Have the camera in landscape
  • Leave pauses at the beginning and at the end of each clip
  • Try not to start sentences with “ok”, “so” or “um”
  • Make sure you are not backlit.

If you’re looking for some ideas to get you started, we’ve included some questions that you may want to answer in the video(s). Don’t feel obligated to answer them all and please feel free to talk about something that we didn’t include. These are just suggestions to get things rolling.
