Radio Requests
Since 2004, the IAWM has used the Radio Requests campaign to promote broadcasts of music by women composers. Every week, participants in the IAWM’s listserv and visitors to this Web page are encouraged to ask local and Internet stations to play works by a chosen woman composer.

Concerts & Competitions
Search for New Music
The Search for New Music is a multi-category competitive compositional opportunity for women and non-binary members of IAWM. The next call will begin March 1, 2026 and Submissions will be due in early May 2026.
Annual Concert
The Annual Concert recognizes the work of composers and performers and inreases the awareness of the musical contributions of women globally. The call will begin in February 2026 with submissions due in late April 2026.
PROGRAMMING AWARD
The PROGRAMMING award is open to any solo performers, ensembles or arts organizations that are current members of IAWM. The call will begin September 1, 2025 with a due date of October 27, 2025
EDUCATOR GRANT
The EDUCATOR GRANT is to help teachers bring a greater focus on women in music to their students through professional development, materials, commissions, guest artists or other media. The call will begin September 1, 2025 with a due date of October 27, 2025. GRANTS are open to everyone.
PAULINE ALDERMAN AWARD AND WOMEN WHO INNOVATE GRANT
The PAULINE ALDERMAN MUSICOLOGY which awards scholarly books, articles and reference works, and the WOMEN WHO INNOVATE grant for women taking risks, and pushing boundaries in their musical realm, are biennial, and will be offered again in Fall 2026.
SPOTLIGHTS AND YOUTUBE
The Spotlights and YouTube programs allow Members to showcase their accomplishments and increase the awareness of the musical contributions of women globally.
